Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is uncertain and the US has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.
The statement noted wreckage landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
