"It's a bit unusual but then, I love sprinting and just move forward - I'm not staying back that much," he added.

"I tell my defender 'I'm not hanging back' and that I'm just going to continue running.

"That running is what I'm looking for. It's enjoyable."

'Surreal Scenario

In addition to the forward's six scores on debut, Stephen Ireland has scored eight in 3 appearances for Wythenshawe, while Boyd scored 5 on his first match and Joleon Lescott, a defender by trade, scored a triple in one match as a striker.

Wythenshawe are top of the Top Division with three wins from three and a GD of plus nineteen.

Paul Barrow, 38, who plays on the flank for Collegiate OB, came up against former Latics full-back Maynor Figueroa on the weekend - and had to tell his nine-year-old son who Heskey was.

Figueroa has appeared at two global tournaments for Honduras, in addition to playing in over 200 Premier League matches.

"It was spreading like wildfire they had these former top-flight stars," remarked the player.

"I think I was a bit starstruck playing against him to be honest.

"Also Emile [Heskey] got on and he's got 60-odd England caps.

"Our side held our own for a solid 20 mins but then we had a player dismissed and it was hard.

"Our group literally have not ceased talking about it - I was calling my mum and sibling on the way home.

"They were all friendly, shaking our hands after the match - it was like facing a group of regular guys.

"Now we are eager for the return match."
