The visionary game developer, the mind behind the globally famous video game Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in Los Angeles, California aged 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The renowned video game developer died after his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in LA on Sunday, according to.
